The Sierra Leone president said 16 Sub-Saharan countries including Sierra Leone enjoy duty-free access to the US market under the African Growth and Opportunity Act. “The Sierra Leone market is open to Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. For a change, we are seen as a country that could provide something instead of receiving. The president during his stay met business communities, visited Grameen Bank headquarters trying to explore means to bring a positive change to his war torn country. And Bangladesh can fully and determinedly explore some prospects of investments which could be described as a virgin territory. Though tapping previously unexplored sectors by Bangladesh like gold and diamonds could turn out to be difficult, an impending visit by a high powered body as agreed by both sides during official talks, to find out the ways and areas of prospective cooperation should allay all apprehension.
