2 million refugees around the world were increasingly underfunded, and that aid for people in three African countries already had been reduced. The Rome-based World Food Program said it urgently needed US$315 (euro250 million), mostly to feed refugees who have fled conflict in Africa, to prevent further cuts in aid. Obasanjo Wants Elected Govt to Handle Taylor’s Case

2005President Olusegun Obas-anjo has said a democratically-elected government, which is expectedin Liberia by October, should handle former President Charles Taylors case. Obasanjos position is coming on the heels of request by the United States of America, that Taylor, who is currently in asylum in Nigeria, be extradited, to answer allegations of human rights violations in a Sierra Leone war crimes.
