Explaining the purposes of the visit the National Coordinator of SLIFS Mr. Sirajin Munirr Rollings Kamara, informed Mr Wurie that the group was formed by interested Sierra Leoneans who have felt the need to strengthen ties between Sierra Leone and Israel…
Wurie among other things that one of the main objectives is to promote solidarity, mutual understanding and related issues between the peoples of Sierra Leone and Israel to including, cultural, educational, social, economics, political and religious spheres. Another objective he revealed “Is to devote our energies to the preservation of honesty, truthfulness and mutual respect and to inculcate an uncompromising attitude towards injustice and any un-brotherly acts that would injure the understanding between Sierra Leone and Israel. He ended up by expressing optimism that Sierra Leone stands to benefit a lot from the ties adding that Israel is a blessed nation. Wurie, lauded the initiative of SLIFS, stressing that he now feels gratified that the people of Sierra Leone can now determine what is good for them without leaving everything to government. He informed the delegation that he had been involved in efforts to renew ties with Israel while he was serving as Sierra Leones Ambassador to Nigeria. He reiterated that the efforts have gained momentum with the respective Ambassadors of Sierra Leone and Israel presenting credentials.
