At this junction i want to send my little contributions weekly by sending articles to you. A bit more confused when i did not heard from you in the past few days, hope you are now back for real. However the rate at which issues are happenning in my country is far from human belief, especially in terms of development, even before the so -called war; things are not really working in the interest of the common Sierra leonean, even nature is not in our favour, coupled with recent cocain saga. At present I am in UK, just recently completing international development studies, now refugee studies.

Sierra Leone: Mr One Drop Sankoh Did Not Lie “Gbata Gbata”

The APC’s reintroduction of multi-party during the Momoh era led to the seven splinter political parties which that writer is making reference to; the Iron Curtain belonged to Chairman Mao’s China while the policy or practice of more open government and wider dissemination of information (glasnost) and the policy or practice of reforming the economy and political system (perestroika) were practised in the 1980s under Mikhail Gorbachev. Again if I should use one of the Mass Communications research methods (Content Analysis) to dissect Leo Augustus’s ‘good’ grasp of history, you will realise that my very poor sense of history is good than his very good sense of history. Reading his above quote, one gets the feeling that the Sierra Leone press contributed to the fall of the Iron Curtain in China under the policies of Gorbachev and Yeltsin in Russia. Except Mr Augustus wants to convince me that he is writing metaphysical poetry! This is not “a One-Drop Mystification” as he claims in page four of his article. This is just one of the many off-the-rails statements Leo Augustus litters his article with to convince his readers that, “Mohamed Sankoh was on the high side of emotionalism” when I wrote that article. But the trust of that article was to show that each newspaper in Sierra Leone has its own genre. Like if you are talking about a newspaper that is known for running stories with middle-of-the-road non-hysterical reports, then the Awoko comes to mind.
