Valentine, leader of the Ogboni cult group who is addressing himself as the Royal Highness was present at the Nigeria High Commission yesterday at a meeting when his brothers and sisters demanded that he should leave the shores of this country immediately. At the meeting yesterday, Nigerians who are conversant with diabolical and inhuman practices of the Ogboni cult in their country told him that he has breached their peace, stability and in Sierra Leone; therefore he must leave the country. According to Nigerian nationals resident in Sierra Leone, the group; they say is a very terrible one and deals in human sacrifices. They explained that they have been driven away from numerous countries, citing The Gambia, Guinea, Senegal and other countries in the region where the acts of human sacrifices were exposed and asked to leave. In Nigeria, they explained that parents have lost their children, marriages destroyed. Children offer their parents for rituals to get rich and parents do the same to their children. “Some of the Nigerian movies you see are real, and this is the work of cultism established in our country by the Ogboni” They added.

On the Anti-Corruption Commission, the President said he knew that the Act, in its old form, was not good enough, that was why as Opposition Leader he clamoured for its review and campaigned on that ticket. Now, as President, he has ensured that the commission has achieved greater independence with prosecutorial powers to charge people to court without going through the Attorney General and increasing the number of offences from nine to twenty seven. He urged the people to see the ACC not as an enemy but as an integral part in the battle to regain Sierra Leone’s lost image and even for higher glory. The President repeated his famous declaration of “no sacred cows” and no hiding place for those who misuse or misappropriate public funds. He said he was all the more happy to make the declaration in Makeni for his relatives to set an example, if not they would be used as an example to show that no one would be protected. ” We can either fight this fight or not try at all. We have to discipline ourselves.

" She smiles as she talks about her dreams and describes her favourite subjects: English and Science. Isatu lives with her father and three siblings in Robonko village about ten miles outside of, Makeni, the headquarter town in northern Sierra Leone. Isatu is twelve years old and is just about to commence her third year at Rogbonko Community Primary School (usually at 12 years children are preparing for either their final year in primary or first year in secondary). Until 2005 there was no school within Isatu’s community and parents were worried about sending their children, especially girls, to walk long distances to the nearest school (approximately 12 miles away).
