Juxon-Smith a successful businessman says that the world economic situation is not good for African countries especially those with donor-driven economies like Sierra Leone. He says that no Sierra Leonean is happy for the country's last place in the UN Human Development Index and then looks at what the country could do this year not only to move from the bottom spot but ameliorate her continiung economic crisis.

Libyan leader extends visit to Sierra Leone

DAKAR – Libyan leader Moamer Gathafi has extended his official visit to Sierra Leone for an indefinite period diplomats said in the West African country Friday. n the third day of his visit Gathafi moved from Freetown to the rural town of Rogbere 100 kilometers (60 miles) north of the capital where he will stay for “an indefinite period” before winding up his stay. “Gathafi will stay in a tent which he brought along while he will discuss bilateral discussions with Sierra Leone leaders and possibly with senior officials of the new military regime in Guinea” a diplomat who did not want to be named said. Junta leader Captain Moussa Dadis Camara seized power in Guinea on December 23 after the death of long-serving president Lansana Conte. The move has drawn widespread condemnation with the African Union announcing Monday it had suspended Guinea’s membership.
