The assistant professor of nursing at California State University Stanislaus has since taken two trips to the west African nation to work in a hospital for women who are seriously injured during childbirth. A higher percentage of women die from childbirth in Sierra Leone than in almost every other country in the world.

It is imperative that those individuals or groups of individuals responsible for such atrocious acts be brought to justice and equitably held accountable by law for violating their own rights and the rights of every victim. We the people of Sierra Leone must stop putting ourselves first. Rather we must put our country first foremost and forward. We must start to focus on posterity for our children born and yet unborn. As a nation we must find a resolve for positive change whereby we all can share peace love respect and unity with one another. This is our cry! And as resilient as we are and can be as a nation we know that together we can rebuild a better Sierra Leone much sooner!Thank you and God bless our loving nation Sierra Leone.

E-mail:. “This project that is about to be launched fulfills one of the requirements of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) since information and communications technology (ICT) has been recognized as an engine for growth” said Vice President Sam Sumana at a recent Freetown workshop organized to publicize the project. The United Nations’ MDGs are eight goals to be achieved by 2015 that respond to the world’s main development challenges. The workshop was supported by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and Commonwealth Telecommunications rganisation (CT). The MCT project is aimed at promoting interconnectivity to bring people in Sierra Leone especially those in remote areas closer to the outside world according to Sumana.
