Dr Kadie Sesay said the development was aimed at undermining the joint communiqué signed by the two political parties to maintain peace and stability in the country. But the police boss said the communiqué did not in anyway prejudiced police investigations and that police did not have substantive evidence on the issue of rape. The military have controlled the border town since the war in the country. According to the crime officer of Tankoro police station inspector John Kelemasa Sesay there have been incidents of serial killings of women in the district. He said the recent one occurred at Gbensedu village Fiama chiefdom where one Sarah Mansaray a suckling mother was stabbed on her neck by an unknown person. Sesay explained that Sarah was living with her husband one Mohamed Mansaray but because she was a suckling mother her husband decided to prepare another room for her in the same compound.
