Drug Smugglers Expelled from Sierra Leone to Face US Charges

fficers from the U. Drug Enforcement Agency have taken custody of Harvey Steven Perez Geraldo Qintana-Perez and Armando Alonso-Romero after they were convicted in Sierra Leone of trying to smuggle nearly 700 kilograms of cocaine through the airport. The three men are facing indictments on drug related charges in the Southern District of New York.

2009 – Missoula Montana?The CE of western Africa?s Sierra Leone YMCA Christian Kamara will be in Missoula April 26 through April 29 2009 to share the success of the partnership between the Missoula Family YMCA and the Sierra Leone YMCA. Five years ago the Missoula Family YMCA began sending money and supplies to the Sierra Leone YMCA to help support their youth vocational training programs. Kamara will be presenting to various community organizations and leaders while in Missoula. Through the fundraising efforts of the Missoula YMCA Montanans have already donated $56380 to the Sierra Leone YMCA and are hoping to raise another $30000 to add another YMCA in the town of Makeni. In 2004 Missoula resident Chris Siegler and his wife Jeannie witnessed the mission of the YMCA being put into practice in a very real way in Sierra Leone where they both had worked in the Peace Corps.

When Awareness Times tried to talk to the girl at the Adonkia Police Station she refused to make any comments and instead rained curses on Lamin who she said is responsible for what happened. “God will surely fight my case” the girl said. In his statement the Minister disclosed that a similar bill is in the ECWAS Telecommunication Bill which is under amendment. He said it is necessary to put the amendment of the bill on hold as it is necessary to ensure some harmonization with the soon to be amended ECWAS bill. He implored the House of Parliament to sanction the postponement so as to ensure that our bill matches with that of ECWAS. In response Parliament unanimously endorsed the minister’s call for the postponement on condition that the hold up period does not last longer than expected.
