SCHULENBURG LEANS T APCIt is not about the unofficial perks and services Schulenburg advertently provides to the APC-led Government’s Foreign Minister Zainab Bangura like supplying her private residence with water using United Nations Resources (Water Bowsers) whilst her neighbours scramble to find water. That though worrying is the least of the issues. The problem as I and many other Sierra Leoneans are seeing are the deliberate efforts to suppress the legitimate democratic opposition in Sierra Leone all with the aim of having the ruling APC Party and the APC-led Government come out the beneficiaries of such policies; to the detriment of the aspirations and desires of at least 48% of the people of Sierra Leone. (Emphasis on at least) If Michael Schulenburg is left to continue on the pathway he has chosen this country is doomed doomed and doomed because the only way Sierra Leone can hope to develop and move beyond our conflict scars is if we can make freedom justice and unity become the mantras for our attitudinal change campaign. Unfortunately if Schulenburg’s brand of United Nations’ diplomacy is left to continue there will be no freedom and no justice for anyone outside the APC and State House circles and there will be more divisions than unity in this land. The Report that was presented to the United Nations Security Council by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on May 22nd 2009 is nothing but a Rogue Report that is slanted in favour of the All People’s Congress and Ambassador Michael Schulenburg knows this! Not only does he know this but he has gone to great extremes to ensure that his deception as contained in that Report get to go un-noticed and unchallenged.
